ISLAMIC, Arabia. Khawlanids. Yahya ibn Abi Hashid, AH 438 / AD 1046/7. Dinar (Gold, 22 mm, 2.00 g, 12 h), frozen and blundered year AH 438, San'a. Album K1073. SICA X, 275. Very rare. The obverse somewhat weak as usual, otherwise, good very fine.

The Khawlanids were a minor dynasty in San'a, the capital of Yemen. Their only ruler known to have issued coins is Yahya ibn Abi Hashid, whose dinars carry somewhat blundered legends and are struck to a greatly reduced weight standard.
